The Bawm language belongs to the Kuki-Chin branch of the Sino-Tibetan family and is spoken by the Bawm people in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. It shares similarities with other languages in the Chin family. The Bawm people have preserved their language through both oral and written traditions, using a Romanized script that was adapted from the Latin alphabet. The language is widely used in community events, religious functions, and daily communication. Efforts to develop educational resources in the Bawm language have increased in recent years.
